Daytona Beach, FL. (January 20th, 2021) – Dakota Dickerson and MLT Motorsports are pleased to announce that they will be teaming up for the 3rd consecutive year in the IMSA Prototype Challenge Championship. Running a part time campaign in 2019, the team secured a win at Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course in their first event together and backed that up with a win and 2nd place finish in their championship campaign together. Running their new Ligier JSP320, Dickerson is confident that his continuity with the team will assist in their efforts to take the 2021 IPC Championship. Joining Dickerson for the season will be series newcomer Josh Sarchet. Sarchet has seen success in the junior formula ranks and will be a great addition to the team.
“I’m very excited to get this new season kicked off,” said Dickerson. “It has taken a lot to get to where we are right now and I really want to get out there and showcase how strong this program is. We literally received our car the week of the race, and any success we have out there is a testament to this group coming together and putting in 110%. Between the drivers, mechanics, engineers, and management, it has been an incredible accomplishment just to get us to this first event, and there would be no better way to repay them than with a win. We’ve got the experience to do it, it’ll just be a matter of executing our goals.”
New for 2021, the IMSA Prototype Challenge season will now feature the Ligier JSP320 as well as the updated Norma (Duqueine M30-D08). The 6 race series kicks off this week at Daytona International Speed during the Roar before the Rolex 24 weekend. Friday will feature two practice sessions, giving the drivers and team just enough time to feel out the new platform around the legendary speedway. Saturday will host a 15 minute qualifying session then straight into the 1 hour 45 minute feature race.
The green flag for the Scouts of America 145 will be at 12:50pm eastern. Be sure to tune into NBCSN Track Pass for the live broadcast. Additional updates and insight into the race weekend can be found on the Dickerson Racing social media channels:
