May 12, 2017 - Fifth Place Finish for Newman Wachs Racing at Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Newman Wachs Racing headquarters is just a few hours from Indianapolis, so the team considers this race to be sort of a local race. Hence even the overcast skies at the beginning of the weekend could dampen the team’s enthusiasm of being at the beautiful an historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The weekend got off to a very good start with driver Dakota Dickerson scoring the second-fastest time in yesterday’s first test session of the day. And on the very last lap of this morning’s qualifying session, Dickerson clinched fifth position for today’s Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda race on the 14-turn Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

April 22, 2017 Crazy First Lap Mixes Things Up for NWR

Birmingham, Ala. – Today’s Round 4 of the Mazda USF2000 Grand Prix of Alabama Presented by Cooper Tires at Barber Motorsports Park got off to a pretty bad start for Newman Wachs Racing. On the very first lap, six cars, including Andre Castro’s #37 machine were involved in an incident in Turn 3. That ended Castro’s day, as he suffered suspension damage.

Just a few seconds later, Dakota Dickerson got caught up in a three-car tangle at Turn 5, and fell back to 18th place, as the full-course yellow was brought out. Dickerson was patient, and on the re-start, with fourteen minutes left in the race, he fought his way back up to the very end and earned a 10th  place finish for the Newman Wachs Racing team. Dickerson was quoted as being “the best recovery drive of the day” .

March 11, 2017 - Newman Wachs Racing St. Pete Wrap Up

Race 1

Today was a better day for the Newman Wachs Racing Team. And although Andre Castro woke up this morning not feeling very well, as he had been battling a fever all week, he and his teammates Cameron Das and Dakota Dickerson took the green flag in this morning’s USF2000 race, under beautiful clear blue skies. All the drivers got through the first turn, and Dickerson made a great pass on the very first lap, moving up from fourth place to third.  A few laps later, Mazda Shootout winner Oliver Askew passed him, with Rinus VeeKay right behind. It was a good clean race, and all three Newman Wachs Racing drivers drove a good race and finished in the top ten, with Dakota Dickerson in 6th place followed by Cameron Das in 8th, and Andre Castro in 10th position.
